White House Spying On Citizens May Be Illegal

We told you that the White House has been asking for INFORMANTS to report “disinformation”– “fishy” emails and conversations about Obamacare. They say that since they can’t keep up with ALL of them, they need ~~Comrade~~ citizen help. They want you to send your spy results to flag@whitehouse.gov.

Oops. There are laws on the books that forbid the government from collecting information to be used to silence or dissuade Americans from exercising their First Amendment rights. Specifically, According to 5 U.S.C. § 552a–

United States agencies, including the Executive Office of the President shall, “maintain no record describing how any individual exercises rights guaranteed by the First Amendment unless expressly authorized by statute or by the individual about whom the record is maintained or unless pertinent to and within the scope of an authorized law enforcement activity.”

The email address, flag@whitehouse.gov is NOT subject to the Freedom of Information Act. Transparency? Heh. Contact your Representatives and ask them to introduce legislation to change that.

Help out the White House! Consider going to the library and emailing something like this:

Dear Comrades,

I desire to report on my fellow citizenry but there is far too much independent thought and personal liberty going on at more web sites than can be listed here. Be advised that the task you have set before we loyal party members is overwhelming. It would be most helpful for me to know how you plan to use this covert information. Such knowledge will allow me to prioritize the formulation of my ever-growing list of dissidents who dare speak out against our government. It is my desire to be useful.

I recently saw from the WH website that disinformation is troubling the administration and it’s efforts to be “transparent”, so I thought I would help as requested.

There is a photo of a birth certificate said to be the President’s circulating the internet lately, and I knew my interest in this subject would be shared by you. Since this disinformation is of a very serious nature I have directed you to this so that it can be immediately publicly addressed and quickly laid to rest.

Dear Pathalogical Liar-In-Chief,

I am answering your call to report disinformation I’ve heard about the health-care bill. You have repeatedly emphasized that under your plan that people with individual health insurance will be able to keep that insurance if they want to. I heard Press Secretary Gibbs say that you haven’t really read the bill…that you’ll be hitting the highlights…so perhaps you missed page 16. Specifically, the “Limitation On New Enrollment” section of the bill clearly states:

“Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll ANY individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day” of the year the legislation becomes law.” So, if my carrier enrolls anyone after Obamacare becomes law, it will nullify my coverage…and it will prevent me from enrolling with another such carrier.

I believe this qualifies as “Disinformation.”
