Virgina Judge Just Rules: Military Ballots “Must Be Preserved”
Email This Post

The McCain campaign has just gotten a ruling on a lawsuit in Virginia. The campaign claims that absentee ballots sent to our military forces were not only mailed too late to have them received by today, but weren’t even created in time. Many in our military just got their ballots in the last few days. A judge in Virginia ruled that the military ballots must come in, and must be preserved until he can hear the case on its merits on November 10th.
This ruling does NOT mean that our service men and womens’ ballots will be counted, which is an outrage. However, the Commonwealth of Virginia is key in this election, and should the Presidential race be close, these ballots may make or break the election for either candidate.
A similar thing happened in the 2004 election. The military ballots were eventually ruled to be counted. We’ve had 4 years to fix whatever is wrong with this system! What is the problem with getting ballots to our heroes?
