Peter, dear, I was not accusing you of what I wrote, I was speaking of Obama. Believe me, you and I are on the same page. At age 78 and my husband at age 82, we are candidates for “End of Life Counseling.” Thank goodness that we both have Living Wills on file at our hospitals. (Isn’t that a delightful word? Bloviating.)

John, rather than having me prove that he is wrong, he first must prove to me that he is right. So far, all I hear is rhetoric and bloviating. When people point the finger at Medi-Care and Social Security, they seem to forget that they were very successful and self-sufficient until the government decided to borrow money from them and use the money for other pet projects. They never did pay it back.

Perhaps when you lefties have a thorough understanding of that and have read the bill line by line and page by page, and have researched the Soc Sec Act, the U.S. Tax Code, Medicare, the U.S.C, and other acts referenced in HR3200 as I have, then you might be up to arguing the merits with me.

JLG, instead of just saying he is wrong, be specific. Start, as you tell him, with facts. How is he wrong? Put up or shut up. I’m not saying you are wrong, but if you want to tell someone else they are wrong, PROVE IT!

Unfortunately, Mr. Fleckstein has only a sophomoric understanding of the Bill. His interpretations of the statute are almost consistently wrong. If you righties want to argue the merits, I’m game, but let’s start with facts and not fiction made-up to scare people.

It has page numbers. Since this bill was released, there have been several other proposals…the latest being a “compromise” with the blue-dog democrats on Friday. The “compromise” mostly deals with Medicaid reimbursement rates. Still, the House Dems love to play fast and loose, and there are several proposals floating out there. Congress.org and Thomas will show you multiple versions of the bill. We’ll be reading the “compromise” which is the version that will be voted on in the House… after Congress returns from recess in Sept., but so far from our research, all that’s really changed are the page numbers.

Erin, I have a question. Where are you and Fleckman getting page numbers? Do you have hard copies of the bill? I have been reading the bill on THOMAS and can’t find page numbers there – just Sections numbers. Makes it difficult to compare comments above as this bill is massive. Please help.

Also, I didn’t notice comment above on SEC. 207. HEALTH INSURANCE EXCHANGE TRUST FUND.
If you don’t have insurance, IRS is going to penalize you and take a percentage of your income to fund the above Trust Fund. You’ll be required to report insurance on your Income Tax Return! IRS will now have even more Gestapo powers.
