The GOP Alternative To Cap And Trade

Introducing 450 amendments in an attempt to rein the beast in, today Republicans on the Hill revealed their alternative to Barack Obama and Congressional Democrats’ Cap and Trade (HR 2454) bill. The whopper that’s going to send your cash flying out of your wallet. The one that will turn GE from a faltering financial institution into a behemoth “green energy” benefactor. MSNBC and Keith Olbermann are drooling along with Obama bud and CEO Jeffrey Immelt.

PLEASE tell your friends and associates about Cap and Trade; a very discouraging poll shows that most people have no clue about what it is; some guessed health care, some guessed Wall Street. Obviously the word “trade” has thrown them off. Lord, we need help.

The battle is on and the clock is ticking fast on the Democrats’ bill; it’s a complicated, sweeping energy policy that will kick our economy right in the gut. Contact your representatives NOW, and contact Rep. Waxman and Rep. Edward Markey (D-Mass) who want it voted on in the house TOMORROW. It only takes a few minutes via the email option, but calls have a big impact too. Do what you can, but we all have to take some action.

It is incredibly arrogant of man to decide he has the most impact on an extremely complex environment…which is impacted vastly more by the sun and space weather along with natural, cyclical long “seasons” in our climate. 31,748 scientists, 9,029 of whom are PhD’s have signed a petition to the government because they vehemently disagree with the notion that we are killing our planet. These scientists are convinced instead that the “human-caused global warming” hypothesis is without scientific validity. That government action on the basis of this hypothesis would unnecessarily and counter-productively damage both human prosperity and the natural environment of the Earth. The reality is, Democrats have the ability to keep ramming these costly bills through. Certainly the cost of them is loss of jobs, raising the cost of living and this is all going to hurt those with no jobs and the middle class the most. The Obama administration understands this. Global warming is still a theory. This is a knee jerk bill that harms the population; in line with everything else this administration has done. Congress will pass the 100 page bill before reading it, to heck with the cost to the public.

These policies, if adopted, will affect every portion of our economy. Every one. We are already in danger of hyperinflation because of the Fed’s printing press.
