Sick Of H.R. 1? Here Comes H.R. 45- Mandatory Federal Gun Licensing
Email This Post
I know you’re still reading the Porkulus Bill…Obama’s counting on you spending ALL your time trying to do what Congress didn’t before passing it. That’s so you might miss the hollow-point coming at gun-owners in the form of H.R. 45- The Blair Holt Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009.
Barry and the gang are counting on us being so dazed by the never-ending march of spending/bailout/socialism legislation, both passed and still to come, that they can slip this baby through. I’m shocked they didn’t stick it into Porkulus. Trust me, they are DYING to pass this one, because even non-nutjobs are now thinking about Revolution. Or at least a good, old-fashioned tax-revolt. (Interestingly, Pennsylvania joined the “states declaring sovereignty” club yesterday, bringing the total near 30.)
If you read the whole bill, you’ll find it will effectively preclude the ownership of ANY firearms by law-abiding people unless directly licensed by the Attorney General. Furthermore, all sales of firearms would have to go through a licensed dealer. The bill also directs the Attorney General to establish and run a federal record-of-sale system. And it would make it a criminal act not to register as an owner of a firearm. This outrage seeks to strip us all of our Constitutional Rights to possess and bear firearms of any distinction.
It requires, within the first two years, that all new guns be registered. The bill goes retroactive after two years. This means that two years after the passage of the bill, ALL FIREARMS in a citizen’s possession must be registered, not just those purchased after the bill passes, and this apparently applies to antique firearms as well. Oh, and those handy digitized health records of yours will be checked to make sure Uncle Sam doesn’t think you’re too whacky before he grants you a license.
Don’t feel like complying? There are major penalties and criminal sentences involved. The bill even spells out that if a firearms license holder fails to notify the Attorney General of an address change within 60 days, that person would be subject to a 5 year prison term and a fine of up to $250,000
Like all other threats against our freedoms, we must rise and defeat this bill, slap it down hard.
In order to stop this, yet ANOTHER major infringement of our Constitutional Rights, (and another kick in the nuts to States’ Rights)- we must vehemently let the Congress know by burying them with emails and calls. You know the drill, and you should probably get used to it. It’s gonna get uglier. Click here to easily contact your House and Senate Reps.
I know you’re steaming, so here’s American Dad’s take on guns for a quick grin:

How about a Second Amendment rights march on Washington? Lets picture several million firearms owners rally on our capitols steps. Perhaps while we are there we might reclaim our government.
