The Senate debate on the socialization of our health-care system is starting in a few minutes at 3pm ET. Watch live here, and plug your zip in here to contact your Senators via email, phone and hand-delivered letter. Blow up the servers and melt the phone lines. Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) is one to watch in this whole frenzy…she’s on the fence (although she allowed the bill to come to the floor for debate.) The public option, abortion and coverage for illegal immigrants are all opposed by many Senators. Yes, despite what they’ve told you, illegals will still be able to get coverage under this bill.
I’m not convinced that the bill won’t be rammed through via reconciliation with a simple-majority of 51 votes. The fight is on, folks- please remain awake and engaged. We’re learning fast.
