Rep. Michelle Bachmann Grills Timmy And Ben
Email This Post
Rep. Michelle Bachman (R-Minn.) asked some tough questions of Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke this morning during their testimonies before the House Banking and Finance Committee. More specifically, where in the Constitution did they get the power to rape the American taxpayer as they did, and continue to do? Guess you need a skirt to stand up to the AIG Laundromat alliance.

You’re kidding, right? Congress, the body duly established by the Constitution, authorized the Treasury department to take these actions. The constitutional authority derives from Congress.
Michele Bachmann comes off looking like a crazy woman who doesn’t understand that HER LEGISLATIVE BODY, using its constitutional powers, granted the Treasury the permission to take its actions.

Er, Ben heads the Fed. No one has authorized him to print trillions to buy up our Treasury bonds. From Timmy.

I can’t believe that this woman is actually a member of congress. Somebody should send her a copy of the constitution and a basic book (with pictures) on government.
That this did not get more press is astonishing to me.
When did this brand of Palin/Bachmann righteous ignorance become popular?
I encourage it, as it will only end up extinguishing itself, but it is soooo painful to watch, not to mention astonishingly embarrassing as an American.

Michelle didn’t do anything but make herself look like a complete and utter clueless idiot. How on Earth did she end up on the Finance Committee? I agree she should be committed, but that isn’t exactly what I had in mind…

GET RID OF THE CFR, FED, IMF, FIDC, TRILATERAL COMMISSION, WORLD BANK, BILDERBERGERS, WORLD IMPROVEMENT FUND, CENTRAL BANK, CLUB OF ROME, ETC., AND PUT THE MONEY BACK WHERE IT BELONGS. NOTHING IS TO LARGE TO FAIL, NOTHING! CHET.

I watched this piece live when it aired. I was absolutely astonished that someone in congress, and on the Finance / Banking committees DOES NOT KNOW that Congress appropriates the funds. Six times she asked the same question and six times it was explained to her that she, her committees and the congress authorized the TARP legislation, not Geithner, not Bernanke. Geithner and Bernanke tried to maintain their composure as they tried to explain to this woman her reponsibilities, without embarassing her. That was already done.

OK, she asked 3 times not 6. I stand corrected.
