Pelosi: New Day, New Spin On “Who Knew What When”

UPDATE: There are reportedly calls for Pelosi’s resignation from both sides of the aisle… particularly her own. Stenny Hoyer would be her logical replacement, as it is he whom she beat for the gig as Speaker. Dick Morris says Nan is out by the summer. JOY if this comes to pass, as she is the loosest cannon on the Hill.

San Fran Nan Pelosi just concluded a contentious press conference where she essentially accused the CIA of LYING to Congress (a crime) about enhanced interrogation techniques used to extract information from terrorists. I’ve lost count of what number we’re up to on Pelosi’s different accounts of “who knew what when,” but we’re at least at Pelosi 5.0 .

Pelosi’s story today was that she was NOT briefed by the CIA about waterboarding beforehand, contradicting fellow committee member Porter Goss‘ account that they were both briefed. Spinneth Pelosi:

“They (CIA) mislead us all the time. The intelligence does not support the imminent threat that they are. Every step of the way the administration was misleading the Congress and that is the issue and that’s why we need a truth commission. I am telling you they told me they approved these and said they wanted to use them but said they were not using waterboarding.”

Where’s the Lie To Me guy?! He nails people every week on the Fox show, and Pelosi would be a walk in the park for him. Still, it’s obvious that when Nan starts using the karate-chop while she’s spinning, it’s a good sign she’s telling a whopper. Her cage was CLEARLY rattled as you’ll see in the clip below.

Nan now says a STAFFER was told, and then he told her. Pelosi said she was only briefed once on the interrogation methods in September 2002 and asserted that her intelligence aide, Michael Sheehy, told her about another briefing five months later in which Bush officials said waterboarding was being used on CIA terror detainee Abu Zubaydah. RIIIGHT.

The press smelled blood, and began pressing an obviously frazzled Pelosi. She started backing away from the podium as she tried to end the questioning. As she backed out, she continued to accuse the CIA of not telling Congress that differing opinions had been filed within the administration, insinuating the methods were not lawful.

100% chance that the CIA is currently wearing out the Xerox machine making copies of all the evidence they have of the briefings. You don’t accuse the CIA of lying without some backlash. Pelosi may get her “truth commission” despite data which suggest the American people don’t want one. It may be San Fran Nan who is exposed as being a liar, especially if she hasn’t shredded her OWN, possibly inconsistent records. In fact, Fox is now reporting that George Lilleth, CIA spokesman, says the agency is standing by their statements. Let’s get ready to rumble!
