Tom Daschle Says Tom Daschle ‘Cheats Us All’

It only took a little over ten years to come back and bite him, but here’s what Tom Daschle thinks of tax-evading cheaters like himself:

“Make no mistake, tax cheaters cheat us all, and the IRS should enforce our laws to the letter. ” Sen. Tom Daschle, Congressional Record, May 7, 1998, p. S4507.

Yes. Yes, the IRS should do that. Ed Morrissey proposes tax-cheat Timothy Geithner should take point on that enforcement.

Obama Backpedals On Rendition – Suddenly Now Pro-Torture

For seven and a half years George W. Bush was allegedly guilty of war-crimes for all that torture with secretive CIA overseas prisons, renditions, and anything designed to stop the guys that wanted us all dead. Interestingly, Obama is now suddenly back pedaling on his promises and following in W’s (and Clinton’s) footsteps which will probably make him a national hero in those same lefty eyes:

Under executive orders issued by Obama recently, the CIA still has authority to carry out what are known as renditions, secret abductions and transfers of prisoners to countries that cooperate with the United States.

Current and former U.S. intelligence officials said that the rendition program might be poised to play an expanded role going forward because it was the main remaining mechanism — aside from Predator missile strikes — for taking suspected terrorists off the street.

So not only has Obama signed his approval on renditions, but he’s forced us into a situation where it will be even more important because of his moves to shut down other venues. I’m just hearing crickets in the left field.

UK Green Guru Says We Should Control Population With Abortion

Comments Off on UK Green Guru Says We Should Control Population With Abortion

Get your outrage t-shirt out and put it on. The UK’s chair of the “Sustainable Development Commission”, Jonathon Porritt, says couples who have more than two children are being “irresponsible” by creating an unbearable burden on the environment. Porritt says:

“I am unapologetic about asking people to connect up their own responsibility for their total environmental footprint and how they decide to procreate and how many children they think are appropriate.”

This TOOL says curbing population growth through contraception and abortion must be at the heart of policies to fight global warming. He says political leaders and green campaigners should stop dodging the issue of environmental harm caused by an expanding population. Abortion and birth control for all. Porritt, a former chairman of the Green party, says the government must improve family planning, even if it means shifting money from curing illness to increasing contraception and abortion.

When will these idiots wake up to the fact that man’s influence on the environment is tiny? Our solar system, however, is a huge factor in changes in our weather…which is ALWAYS changing. Look for lefties to pick this foolery up and bang this drum more loudly here…especially if Obama signs the Freedom of Choice Act as he’s promised. The FOCA would make abortion legal at ANY time during a pregnancy. Any time. During labor? No problem. As long as the baby’s head isn’t out, it has no civil rights.

Obama will also reverse President Bush’s recent executive order exempting health-care workers to opt out of performing abortion procedures if they object for moral/faith reasons. They’ll have to do them…or risk losing their jobs. So the world marches on towards full acceptance of infanticide and euthanasia…already accepted tenets of society in many countries already. Whatever happened to life? Guess it’s only for animals and trees.

Obama’s Brother Gets Busted

Comments Off on Obama’s Brother Gets Busted

Barack Obama’s brother George Obama, the one who lives in a hut in Kenya, has gotten himself into a bit of trouble. George Obama was arrested by Kenyan police on charges of marijuana possession.

He was also accused by Kenyan police of resisting arrest. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday. CNN talked with George in jail, and the president’s brother denied the charges. Area police chief Joshua Omokulongolo said George Obama was picked up Saturday and was being held at the Huruma police post in the capital. Omokulongolo said officers found one joint of marijuana on him.

Barack and George Obama share the same father, who died in a car accident when George was six years old. The brothers met only once, a meeting in which the president described in his book, “Dreams Of My Father,” as a “painful affair.” Painful because Barry was afraid George wouldn’t stay hidden while Barry pursued his political ascent. Reporters found George Obama last year living in a Kenyan slum with his mother’s extended family.

George is just trying to get toasty in his hut, and forget that his brother is arguably the most powerful man in the world! He now has the scrutiny of fame with none of the perks. The world must look pretty strange to George from where he sits.

More Tax Problems In Obama’s Cabinet- This Time It’s Tom Daschle

Do you remember that enormous questionnaire Barack Obama made all of his potential staffers fill out? Obviously it had a gaping hole where the DID YOU PAY YOUR INCOME TAXES question should have been. First there was Geithner, now in charge of the IRS. Now, the AP is reporting it’s Tom Daschle.

Former Sen. Daschle was picked by Obama to lead his health reform efforts. He recently filed amended tax returns to report $128,203 in back taxes and $11,964 in interest, according to a Senate document obtained by the AP.

The White House acknowledged Friday that “some tax issues” had emerged in connection with the nomination, but a spokesman said the president is confident the former Senate Democratic leader will be confirmed as the new health secretary. Of course he will be! If Geithner, who is now in charge of the Treasury department can skate on taxes, surely a former Senator and full-time Democrat sycophant like Daschle can get through.

So, was it a one-time goof? Hell no. You already knew the answer to that one. Daschle filed amended tax returns for 2005, 2006 and 2007 to reflect additional income for consulting work, the use of a car service and reduced deductions for charitable contributions. He filed the returns after Obama announced he intended to nominate him to head the Health and Human Services Department. I wonder how many MORE of these rush-rush late tax return filers there are up in Kool’s gang.

Most of Daschle’s additional taxes resulted from unreported income from the use of a car service provided him by a close friend and business associate, Leo Hindery Jr. The unreported income for that service totaled more than $250,000 over three years. He ALSO had unreported consulting income of $88,333, in 2007. He ALSO had reductions to charitable contributions totaling about $15,000 over the three years covered, according to the Senate Finance Committee document. The document, marked “Confidential Draft,” is a committee statement concerning Daschle’s nomination.

Leo Hindery founded InterMedia Partners, a private equity firm, in 1988. Daschle was paid $1 million annually for his services, the committee said. Daschle’s 2007 tax return did not include one of his monthly payments of $88,333. Oops. The average American probably would have caught that 88 large.

“Senator Daschle told staff that in June 2008, something made him think that the car service might be taxable and disclosed the arrangement to his accountant,” said the committee statement. “Senator Daschle estimated that he used the car and driver 80 percent for personal use and 20 percent for business use. On January 2, 2009, Senator Daschle filed amended returns for 2005, 2006 and 2007 reporting the value of the car service as income.”

Okay, so Daschle in JUNE thinks he has a problem, but waits until January, right before the inauguration, to do something about it? Somehow I don’t think Tommy was gonna fix that problem if Obama lost. White House spokesman Bill Burton said:

“The president has confidence that Sen. Daschle is the right person to lead the fight for health care reform. In preparation for his nomination, Sen. Daschle and his accountant identified some tax issues and fixed them. They filed amended return with the IRS and made payments with interest.”

The committee document said two issues still remain outstanding concerning Daschle. It is still reviewing whether travel and entertainment services provided by an array of companies and organizations should have been reported as income. Those providing such services were EduCa, Inc., the Catherine B. Reynolds Foundation, Academy Achievement and Loan to Learn.

Also, the committee statement noted that the staff has highlighted certain donations from Daschle of more than $250. While Daschle provided staff with copies of checks, proper acknowledgment from those receiving the donations was not provided. Daschle’s returns have not been amended for those amounts. Tom, the exempt charities send you a letter acknowledging your donation. It’s the law. It isn’t just a thank-you note. If you don’t get a letter, there’s a good chance your “donation” wasn’t deductible. 501(c)3, baby. Look it up.

So, what about the ethics Barry? You called the press conference and laid down the law. You had just the right combo of “tough thug meets righteous indignation.” Oscar-worthy. But it seems your people just can’t meet the bar. Doesn’t matter, though, does it? Better get out the old “EXCEPTION” stamp again.

Democrat Reaction To Steele RNC Election: Racism

This afternoon Michael Steele, former Lt. Governor of Maryland, was elected to be the new chairman of the RNC. Congratulations to Steele. I’m looking forward to a fresh perspective on the direction to take our great Republican party. I was not looking forward to, after I heard this announcement, the inevitable negative spin and backlash from Democrats. What I heard was far worse than anything I expected. Pure racism.

While listening to C-SPAN on my drive home the broadcast of Michael Steele’s acceptance speech was played and then the call-in lines were opened. If you’re not familiar with C-SPAN’s call-in format the moderator takes calls, alternating between Republican, Democrat, and Independent lines while announcing the city, state, and party affiliation of the caller. There were 14 minutes of calls and every single Democrat caller spewed racism.

The first caller was a Democrat and called the election a shallow attempt at trying to match the Democrats’ nomination of an African-American for president. The second caller was Republican, congratulated Steele, and closed with a “God bless you.” The third caller was Democrat and called Steele a “colored.” The next, a Republican, said how excited he was for Steele because he had been his pick from those running. The next, a Democrat, talked about Steele in the third-person while referring to him as a “man of color.” Another Democrat caller informed listeners this was a hoax by the GOP because the Republican party was “99.9% white males.” Another Democrat, another “colored” reference.

This went on for 14 minutes. Three Democrat callers referred to Michael Steele, an African-American, as a “colored” or “man of color.” “Colored”?! What century is this??

Every Republican caller was positive and encouraging. Every single Democrat, every single last one, for 14 minutes spewed racist hatred at the GOP and Steele, likening this election to McCain’s selection of Palin as an alleged attempt to scoop the Hillary voters. Not one of the Democrat callers could take issue with a position or view of Steele’s, only the color of his skin.
