Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) said the White House and the Democratic leadership in the House of Representatives have been pressuring him not to speak out on the “compromise” abortion language in the Senate version of the health care bill.
“They think I shouldn’t be expressing my views on this bill until they get a chance to try to sell me the language,” Stupak said Tuesday. “Well, I don’t need anyone to sell me the language. I can read it. I’ve seen it. I’ve worked with it. I know what it says. I don’t need to have a conference with the White House. I have the legislation in front of me here.”
Hope you don’t get a dead fish in your stocking from Rahm, Rep. Stupak.
The latest round of Washington bribery courtesy of the health-care “reform” bills in the House and Senate only serve to highlight the massive amount of corruption in our government. A new study by the University of Michigan found that…surprise, surprise…banks with political ties got bailouts! More money spent on lobbying efforts = more goodies from Congress!
Want less corruption? Shrink the size of government. This Center for Freedom and Prosperity video explores the issue and concludes that big government is inherently corrupting.

Obamacare- Change Nobody Believes In: WSJ
When Liberal Dreams Collide With Public Opinion: Real Clear Politics
Senator Lindsay Graham vented to CNN this morning about the vote to end debate on the health care bill in the Senate.
“This is far from over. The House and Senate bills are in many ways irreconcilable. You know, change you can believe in, after this health care bill debacle is now becoming an empty slogan. And it’s really been replaced by seedy Chicago politics, when you think about it, backroom deals that amount to bribes.”
Baldfaced bribes at that…the “Louisiana Purchase” of Mary Landrieu in the House, the unconstitutional Medicaid gift to Nebraska’s Senator Ben Nelson, other perks for Vermont’s Bernie Sanders— THEY DO NOT CARE THAT YOU KNOW! In your face, America. We are criminals and we do what we want. We will threaten Representatives with things like military base-closures in their states if we have to. Rahm Emanuel will call them at night and remind them “we are keeping score, buddy.”
No Republican Senator voted to ration your health care and make you a criminal for not having health insurance. Every Democratic Senator, even the ones thought ‘reasonable’ or ‘bipartisan’ – voted to ration your health care and make you a criminal if you don’t buy health insurance.
However, it isn’t over yet. Red State’s Dan Perrin has a strategy for both the left AND the right to defeat this bill…for neither are happy about the monsterous money-sucking insanity.
There are many reasons in agreement between the right and the left and the American public about why this bill must be killed:
1. It will increase health care costs;
2. The individual mandate is massive government intrusion on individual freedom, and is a gift to the private insurers, and disproportionately impacts lower-income families;
3. The fantasies of CBO’s assumptions notwithstanding, this bill will accelerate our march to financial insolvency; and,
4. Passage of the bill merely reinforces the practice of buying votes with debt issued by the U.S. Treasury;
5. Among many other reasons, in the words of Howard Dean, the bill does more harm than good.
The Plan: First, conservatives will object to the appointment of the conferees. This is not a motion, so it is non-debatable. An objection cannot be overcome unless the Senator making the objection caves. Let’s hope Senator McConnell agrees with this approach — but regardless, the objection shall be made.
This forces two votes in the U.S. House, one vote to amend the Senate bill on the House floor, since the Senate bill likely cannot pass the House unamended, and will force another vote on final passage of the amended House bill.
So, first, conservatives force two votes in the House, by preventing the appointment of the conferees, and therefore, preventing a House-Senate Conference.
Second, the left will focus on three separate issues to kill the bill in the House. The object of these issues is not to support these policies per say, but to add items to the House bill that will be so objectionable that when the bill goes back over to the Senate, that the Dems lose one or more of their 60 votes.
The Public Option: The progressive’s net roots should hold accountable the Democratic House members who said they would not vote for the bill if there was no public option. Progressives need to produce enough votes to force the public option back into the bill. Forcing the public option back into the bill is in the progressive’s interest since it will show they have the political power to do it, and will set a precedent for a new health care reform baseline in the House for Democrats. It is in conservative’s interest for this to happen because if it does, Senator Lieberman’s vote reverts to a NO.
The Nelson Buy-Off: Both the left and the right net roots will focus on pulling the Nebraska and Vermont free pass on increased Medicaid spending, on the basis that it is a corrupt back room deal that may be unconstitutional on the basis that it violates the equal protection clause (the 14th amendment to the Constitution.)
Unions: Unions must pull the Senate tax on Cadillac health plans, and replace it with the House tax on individuals. (I know, I can’t believe I just wrote that either!) This will force Senators, when the bill goes back to the Senate, to oppose the bill which could force the Dems lower than 60 votes.
Hold the No Votes: Conservatives need to hold and add one or two more no votes to the 39 House votes against the bill, among those Democrats who have concerns about their own re-election or who have announced their retirement — since the leverage from the Speaker has substantially decreased. If every No vote on the original House bill holds, there only needs to be two additional no votes.
Pro-Life and Pro-Abortion Forces: In short, have at it. Given the Stupak amendment majority in the House, the pro-lifers must stick Stupak back on the bill, so that when it is sent back to the Senate, the pro-abortion majority can pull Stupak back off. When the bill goes back to the Senate, the pro-abortion forces can remove Stupak, just as they did a couple of weeks ago. Once Stupak is pulled again from the Senate it must go back to the House to be amended, or die there.
I am willing to coordinate these actions with the left in real-time, and work with the Progressives who want to kill the bill — to share intelligence and whip counts. This way the left and the right working together will accomplish not only what we want, but what the American people want.
I didn’t include this in the original post: we do not need any more than 42 votes on the House floor, and last time there were 39 No votes. Assuming we have a hard base of 25 no Dem votes, then the net roots need to produce eight House votes on either the abortion or public option question. The Stupak folks ought to be able produce ten additional no votes. This is not difficult math. And MoveOn.org is already telling its members to oppose the Senate bill.
There you have it. Crazy as it sounds on it’s face…this is the game we must play to keep the takeover of our health care system from happening. Time for some strategic action!
UPDATE: The vote on this monster will be Monday morning at 1:00 AM ET. Who does business this way? Criminals. That’s who.
Harry Reid and his clerks are currently reading his manager’s amendment health care plan on the floor of the Senate. Still no score on what this puppy will cost from the CBO, but we all know it isn’t about what it costs for the Democrats. Republicans have forced the reading of the almost 400 page idiocy, so hopefully the clerks brought some water with them this morning. Here’s a copy for your reading pleasure..
Fox news just announced that former holdout Ben Nelson (D-NE) has caved. Nelson admitted last night that he was trying to get more goodies for his state…so it wasn’t really about abortion after all. Nelson scored a Medicaid exemption for Nebraska which keeps the state from paying it’s burden FOREVER. That’s a biggie, because this plan throws incredible financial burdens on the states. We’ll be picking up Nebraska’s tab. What the hell.
Reid included a provision in his amendment that allows states to prohibit abortion coverage in the insurance exchanges the bill creates. It’s basically a state opt-out, which allows Democrats to sidestep the tricky issue by dumping it on the states.
The amendment also requires that health plans that provide abortion services segregrate the premiums from any federal money so that federal funds don’t pay for abortion services. In other words: another shell game. Because the insurance plans offered through the exchange are eligible for federal subsidies, taxpayer money is still paying for the coverage of abortion.
It’s not too late to call these key Senators and tell them HELL NO on Obamacare.

This is one of the coolest programs I’ve ever seen, and I wanted to share it with the Right Soup for Christmas. The Star of Bethlehem ~ put in the heavens at the creation of the universe ~ signified many things. Frederick A. Larson, an attorney and layman made ‘the star’ a personal quest… and his website Bethlehemstar.net is fantastic. His presentation here is a wonderful gift; I hope you enjoy!
“About 99.9% of the Star of Bethlehem stuff is nutty, but this isn’t that. It’s well-researched and reasonable.”

A Clockwork Star
For if the Star wasn’t magic or a special miracle from outside of the natural order, then it was something even more startling. It was a Clockwork Star. And that is overwhelming. The movement of the heavenly bodies is regular, like a great clock. The Clockwork Star finally means that from the very instant at which God flung the universe into existence, he also knew the moment he would enter human history in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. He marked it in the stars. And from before the beginning of time as we experience it, God knew the very moment when Messiah would breath his last on the cross.
Jesus is “the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.”
Now, for a look from the moon back to the earth at the moment of Messiah’s death…
Barry swooped into Copenhagen early this morning to try and work his mojo on the international Warmists. They want the U.S. to pay it’s “fair share” of $100 billion a year. We pay $20 Billion a year in foreign aid already. China has agreed to reduce it’s emissions intensity by 40%…(meaning it’s emissions would increase by over 100%. Heh.)
Obama told the delegates the international community’s ability to take collective action was in doubt. A draft political agreement drawn up by a small group of countries including the U.S., the U.K. and Australia was rejected during overnight talks. Barry scolded that:
“While the science of climate change is not in doubt, I think our ability to take collective action is in doubt right now, and it hangs in the balance. Climate change poses unacceptable risks to international security, the world economy and the planet.”
The science is not in doubt? Hah! Just because you say something a bunch of times doesn’t mean it’s true. What ISN’T in doubt is the naked ambition of the warmists to communize the planet. Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva received rousing applause for his speech. He told delegates:
“We, the developing countries… when we think in money, we should not think that someone is paying us a favour. We should not think that someone is giving something that we are begging for, because the money that would be put on the table is the payment for greenhouse emissions released over two centuries by those countries that industrialised themselves first.”
Any committment at Copenhagen WOULD require Congressional approval, the plan would most likely be tagged onto the already passed Cap and Trade bill in the House, and added to whatever bill comes out of the Senate. (We’ll see if Obama decides to make an end-run around Congress with an “executive agreement” instead. Remember, Obama’s Regulatory Czar Cass Sunstein has advised him he could pull such a stunt. ) The key US demand is “transparency” from China, seen as a must if the US Senate is to pass legislation controlling emissions. There are calls from many countries for “international monitoring” of emissions. Sovereignty be damned.
Lord Monckton Breaks Down Copenhagen:
Lord Monckton Then Gets Beat Up And Knocked Out:
It’s all about the MONEY TO BE MADE in the carbon-credit market, and many of the bigwigs at Copenhagen stand to make gazillions. We’ll be watching the conference as it winds up today, and we’ll see what kind of idiocy Obama promises on our behalf. Stay tuned!
Wow! Some pretty amazing numbers here…the Wall Street Journal just released a poll asking Americans which party they felt most favorable about. Here are the results:
Tea Party: 41%
Heads up, GOP. Better start fighting for us or you are TOAST.
You didn’t really believe that “I won’t raise your taxes a dime” crap from Barry, did you? Rep. Michele Bachmann sure doesn’t… she says that Democrats are about to drop “the largest middle-class tax increase in American history” onto the backs of taxpayers in the form of unfunded mandates saddling small businesses with massive debts.
Recent polls shows only 34 percent of Americans support the healthcare reform legislation and 61 percent oppose it, but the Democrats DO NOT CARE. They want to pass ANYTHING so that they can put a mark in the plus column for Obama.
Bachmann says the proposed reforms constitute an “unconstitutional mandate” that would require those without health insurance to buy it even if they don’t want it. Businesses and individuals that don’t buy health insurance would face heavy fines or even face imprisonment.
It’s not too late to make your voice heard. Moveon.org and HCAN are rallying their liberal members to bury Congress with pro-Obamacare calls and emails. COUNTERACT!! Click here to find your Representatives’ info and start speaking up! Say NO to socialized medicine, and demand that Congress listen to America!
With Obamacare now in critical condition, Tea Party activists are turning up the heat today in Washington for the Code Red Rally on Capitol Hill. Laura Ingraham is hosting. Speakers include Sen. Tom Coburn, M.D. (R-Okla.) and Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.). People are traveling from all around the country to be there.
If you are in the D.C. area today, Tuesday, Dec. 15th, join the rally at 1:30 pm, Upper Senate Park, on Constitution Ave. between New Jersey and Delaware St. NE.
