House Republicans Health Care Plan: 12 Hour Live Telecast

Comments Off on House Republicans Health Care Plan: 12 Hour Live Telecast

House Republicans are holding a 12-hour live online telecast today starting at 1pm Eastern to expose the perils and pitfalls of Pelosicare — and to spotlight the GOP alternative. The CBO has scored the Republican plan, and…shocker…it costs a whole lot less than the proposed Democrat takeover of 1/6 of our economy.

The CBO and the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation estimate that the Republican plan would reduce federal deficits by $68 billion over the 2010-2019 period; it would also slightly reduce federal budget deficits in the following decade, relative to those projected under current law, with a total effect during that decade that is in a broad range between zero and one-quarter percent of gross domestic product.

Watch the House Republicans’ online telecast live here, and spread the word!!

Obamanomics: A Raise Now Equals A “Job Saved”

For all of us who’ve been wondering exactly how to quantify a “job saved”– we now have an answer courtesy of the Admin. If you got a raise, your job counts as a job saved. Whaaa? An Associated Press review of the latest stimulus reports (which the White House promised would undergo MORE extensive reviews to ensure accuracy) found that more than two-thirds of 14,506 jobs credited to the recovery act by just one federal office were overstated… because they counted pay increases for existing workers as jobs saved.

The inflated job counts are reportedly the result of the administration instructing local community agencies that received money to count the raises as “jobs saved”.

Disclotheth the AP:

Most of the inflated figures were like those cited in the 935 saved jobs reported by the Southwest Georgia Community Action in Moultrie, Ga. The agency, like hundreds of others collecting Head Start money, claimed all its existing employees’ jobs were saved because they received a pay raise with the stimulus cash.

Similar claims led to overstating by more than 9,300 the number of jobs saved with more than $323 million in stimulus money distributed by the Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families, the AP’s review found.

More than 250 other community agencies in the U.S. similarly reported saving jobs when using the money to give pay raises, pay for training and continuing education, extend employee work hours or buy equipment, according to their spending reports.

The Georgia program inflated the numbers even further by claiming the recovery money saved more jobs than the number of people it actually employs. The agency employs 508 people but claimed 935 jobs were saved because of confusion over government reports.

HHS spokesman Luis Rosero hilariously defends the practice saying:

“If I give you a raise, it is going to save a portion of your job.”

Huh? Does that even make sense? Does a raise save the rest of your job too, or are you now considered a part-time worker? Is your job saved for life? Does anyone even get raises these days? (Put your hands down, Goldman Sachs.)

Obamanomics. We do not discriminate against the math-impaired.

Obama Indoctrination Watch: 11 New Videos? It’s Not Random Any More.

Andrew Breitbart’s Big Hollywood just hit the net with no less than 11 new Obama indoctrination videos…more kiddies singing praises to The One. What the hell is going ON in our schools? Here’s a sweet one from the fifth graders of the Gotham Avenue School…with the chorus of:
“We believe in Barack Obama
He loves you and he loves your mama
We believe in Barack Obama, yeah
With all the change he’s building
Gonna bring hope to the children
We believe in Barack Obama, yeah

That we can believe in
That we can believe in
That we can believe in”

How about this one courtesy of the scholars at Hennigan Elementary School?

Oh, yeah.
“Obama is fresh. Obama is cool. He has two daughters that like to go to school. It’s hot outside, they jump in the pool. [unintelligible] to follow the rules. Obama is President and has a new residence. There’s people all around who questions all the evidence.

Michelle wants her daughters to think their own things. She doesn’t want their colors to do it instead. The 44th President of the USA because he beat Senator John McCain. Obama in charge of the oval office. He told Bush and his cabinet to get off this. A – a-a-a-aay. Obama is President of the USA-aaaay. Tomorrow’s a new day – ay – ay- ay- ay. And we’re living our life.”

Comments Off on Victories!!!

Wow, what a night for conservatives in Virginia, New Jersey, AND New York! Yes, Doug Hoffman’s close loss in NY-23 is still a big, big victory…the man came out of nowhere to shove turncoat Republican Dede Scozzafava out of the race, and give Democrat Bill Owens a serious run for his money. Had Scozzafava not still been on the ballot, Hoffman would have probably won. NY-23 sends a HUGE message to the GOP: You Can’t Win Without Conservatives.

In Virginia, for the second time in history, the GOP took ALL statewide offices. In New Jersey, despite multiple stump-trips by Obama and his boys, Republican Chris Christie smoked John Corzine. In blue-state Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court went to the Republicans… which could help them with redistricting next year. Gay marriage was shot down in Maine.

In every state in which Barack Obama campaigned for a candidate, the candidate lost. I wish he’d made it up to NY-23. The Obama/ACORN “base” stayed home, and independent voters left the Dems like congressmen scurrying out of Washington on a Thursday afternoon.

Political expert Larry Sabato notes that there have only been two times in history when Virginia and New Jersey so thoroughly flipped to the opposite party: in 1993, before the GOP take over of Congress in 1994, and in 2005, before the Democrats took back Congress in 2006.

It was a sunny conservatism that won the day…not a tit-for-tat with Bush-bashing Democrats. In Virginia, Bob McDonnell ran a pragmatic race on the issues: jobs, the economy, taxes, roads. New Jersey Democrats’ petty ads about Chris Christie’s weight blew up in their faces, as voters are in no mood for such petty shenanigans. What’s more: independents broke strongly for the GOP in all of last night’s big races in a quick flip from the 2008 presidential election. Obama is not the change they believe in.

GOP party powers: Can You Hear Us Now? Let NY-23 be a lesson to you. If you keep turning your backs on conservatives, you will keep losing. Learn the lesson, or ignore it at your peril.

Horrors In The Health Care Bill: Chapter And Verse

More study of the Democrats’ health care bill has turned up expected yet disturbing details…many of which directly contradict the increasingly ludicrous Obamaspin. Barry’s been out lying again to small businesses with his “If you like your plan and if you like what you’re paying for it, if you like your benefits, keep it, nothing’s going to change.” With a straight face.

Here’s a taste of the Pelosicare truth:

Page 94: “Prohibits the sale of private individual health insurance policies, beginning in 2013, forcing individuals to purchase coverage through the federal government.” In 2013, after the 2012 presidential election. In 2013, there is no private insurance allowed. The sale of it will be prohibited.

Page 110: “Requires the use of federal dollars to fund abortions through the government-run health plan — and, if the Hyde Amendment were ever not renewed, would require the plan to fund elective abortions.”

Page 111 — Section 223: “Establishes a new board of federal bureaucrats (the ‘Health Benefits Advisory Committee’) to dictate the health plans that all individuals must purchase — and would likely require all Americans to subsidize and purchase plans that cover any abortion.” The death panels are back, by the way.

Page 211 — Section 321: “Establishes a new government-run health plan that, according to non-partisan actuaries at the Lewin Group, would cause as many as 114 million Americans to lose their existing coverage.”

Page 225 — Section 330: “Permits — but does not require — Members of Congress to enroll in government-run health care.” So they’ll be able to opt out of it and maintain their Cadillac plans.

Page 255 — Section 345: “Includes language requiring verification of income for individuals wishing to receive federal health care subsidies under the bill — while the bill includes a requirement for applicants to verify their citizenship, it does not include a similar requirement to verify applicants’ identity, thus encouraging identity fraud for undocumented immigrants and others wishing to receive taxpayer-subsidized health benefits.”

Page 297 — Section 501: “Imposes a 2.5 percent tax on all individuals who do not purchase ‘bureaucrat-approved’ health insurance — the tax would apply on individuals with incomes under $250,000, thus breaking a central promise of then-Senator Obama’s presidential campaign.”

Page 313 — Section 512: “Imposes an 8 percent ‘tax on jobs’ for firms that cannot afford to purchase ‘bureaucrat-approved’ health coverage; according to an analysis by Harvard Professor Kate Baicker, such a tax would place millions ‘at substantial risk of unemployment’ — with minority workers losing their jobs at twice the rate of their white counterparts.”

Page 336 — Section 551: “Imposes additional job-killing taxes, in the form of a half-trillion dollar ‘surcharge,’ more than half of which will hit small businesses; according to a model developed by President Obama’s senior economic advisor, such taxes could cost up to 5.5 million jobs.” This is the thing we talked about yesterday, $500,000 for single filers, million dollars, the income surcharge on those earners. A lot of people are small business owners, and they file on their personal 1040 form.

Page 520 — Section 1161: “Cuts more than $150 billion from Medicare Advantage plans.”

Page 733 — Section 1401: “Establishes a new Center for Comparative Effectiveness Research; the bill includes no provisions preventing the government-run health plan from using such research to deny access to life-saving treatments on cost grounds, similar to Britain’s National Health Service, which denies patient treatments costing more than $35,000.”

Page 1174 — Section 1802(b): “Includes provisions entitled ‘TAXES ON CERTAIN INSURANCE POLICIES’ to fund comparative effectiveness research, breaking Speaker Pelosi’s promise that ‘We will not be taxing [health] benefits in any bill that passes the House.'” And this, you know, is just the scratch-the-surface look ’cause there are 1,990 pages.

Rush Limbaugh said yesterday:

“You know the death panels are still in the bill. I got some e-mails, “Rush, you won’t find the word death panel in it.” Wake up, folks. It’s even being reported by State-Controlled Associated Press. End-of-life counseling remains in the bill. “The Medicare end-of-life planning provision that 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin said was tantamount to death panels’ for seniors is staying in the Pelosi bill. The provision allows Medicare to pay for voluntary counseling to help beneficiaries deal with the complex and painful decisions families face when a loved one is approaching death. … But when House Democrats proposed this summer to pay doctors for end-of-life counseling, it touched off a wave of suspicion and anger,”and they took it out of there and said it wasn’t going to happen and it was never in there. So now it’s in there. Let’s not forget, Newsweek: “The Case for Pulling the Plug on Granny.”

Keep reading the bill with us!! Pelosi wants a vote on this mess this week. If you can, join Michele Bachman Thursday for her March on Washington! Expected attendance is SKYROCKETING. If you can’t go, help blow up the phone lines and the email servers by burying your Reps with opposition. Click the link, put in your zip, and let them know if they vote for this outrage they’ll be coming home for good.

Panic In The Ukraine: Deadly Illness Looks Like Pneumonic Plague

I’ve been watching this one for several days, reading first-person accounts out of the Ukraine. There is a deadly illness that is spreading so fast that vast parts of the country have been quarantined. So far, there’s no mention of it yet in our mainstream media.

Ukrainian officials have been instructed to call it “swine flu”, but it’s symptoms are much more like the 1918 Spanish flu. People are dying quickly after becoming ill, respiration becomes impossible because their lungs fill with blood. Has H1N1 mutated? An bug that kills in 3-4 days has to spread pretty fast to stay alive. And this one is spreading very, very quickly. Pretty dang horrifying.

There are almost 200,000 people sick from the disease, and about 15,000 hospitalized. The government has closed schools, quarantined at least 9 major regions, banned public events and put the January electoral campaigns on hold. In four of Kiev’s 10 districts, most drugstores posted handwritten signs in their windows that read “no masks.” A central info line for the city’s drugstores said yesterday most stores had run out of protective masks or flu and cold remedies such as paracetamol (acetaminophen.)

Ukraine has asked the U.S., the EU, NATO and its neighbors for protective masks and Tamiflu to Ukraine after President Viktor Yushchenko said the country couldn’t fight an outbreak of pandemic influenza alone.

The outbreak suggests severe cases and deaths in Ukraine occurred among adults aged between the ages of 20 and 50, according to the World Health Organization. Here is their statement on the pandemic. Please keep these people in your prayers- I am searching for a good charitable organization that is on the ground helping with this horror in the Ukraine. I’ll post if I find one– if readers know some good ones, hit me up in the comments and share it with us.
