Mike Carey, president of the Ohio Coal Association (OCA), has issued a statement today in light of Barack Obama’s anti-coal stance being revealed. In case you’ve missed the interview where Obama detailed how he’d bankrupt the coal industry, which provides 50% of America’s electricity, you can hear it all here.

It should then come as no surprise that Carey is warning voters that a vote for Obama is a vote against coal workers across the country:

“It’s evident that this [Obama-Biden] campaign has been pandering in states like Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana and Pennsylvania to attempt to generate votes from coal supporters, while keeping his true agenda hidden from the state’s voters.”

“Senator Obama has revealed himself to be nothing more than a short- sighted, inexperienced politician willing to say anything to get a vote. But today, the nation’s coal industry and those who support it have a better understanding of his true mission, to ‘bankrupt’ our industry, put tens of thousands out of work and cause unprecedented increases in electricity prices.”

Make no mistake. Barack Obama will force his vision of Utopia on us no matter what the cost to America. He’ll stand in front of voters in states like Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Ohio and tell them whatever it takes to win their votes, but watch out. Obama is ready to ruin an industry and throw away those dependent on it.
