Obama Tells 60 Minutes He Won’t Accept Geithner’s Resignation

Spoiler alert: tomorrow night on CBS’s 60 Minutes Obama declares he would not accept Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner’s resignation if it was offered, according to excerpts from the television interview to be broadcast on Sunday. (The interview was taped yesterday.)
Obama said he would tell Geithner:
“Sorry buddy you’ve still got the job.”
Not any sorrier than we are, Barry. We know nobody can launder the bucks like Geithner, Paulson and Bernanke so you’ll keep Turbo around until the pitchforks start flying. Downside: this could be sooner than you think. Free Timmy!
This revelation is clearly to grease the skids for Geithner’s long-delayed financial plan announcement next week, where the zombie ideas have won. “Toxic” is such an ugly word. They prefer “misunderstood.” Still, the crap will now be tossed from the banks, to the TARP and the TALF, to the FDIC and Treasury, then back to the banks at an unbelievable discount. Who’s gonna pay the difference? The man in the mirror, my children.
