Obama Spent $700,000 On Berlin Stage

Think $150,000 is a lot for two months worth of clothes that would be donated to charity? How about $700,000 for one afternoon’s speech? Well don’t tell that to the Obama camp or the people of Berlin!
Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama paid a German company nearly $700,000 for staging, sound and lighting services at the time he delivered a speech this past summer in Berlin and declared himself a “citizen” of both the U.S. and the world.
The company was paid $667,082 by the Obama campaign in three disbursements in July and August, according to the FEC records. The campaign also paid $9,018 to the limousine service Bero Berlin, the records show.
Nice. And as far as Michelle Obama using her stint on Leno to slam Palin’s wardrobe purchase by saying she purchases all her own clothes, it’s worth noting that Sarah Palin earns just over $100,000 as the governor of Alaska. Michelle Obama earns over $300,000/year (her hospital salary tripled after Barack won the IL Senate seat and earmarked $1,000,000 for her hospital) and Barack earned over $4,000,000 in 2007. So yeah, I hope they are paying for their own clothes.
