Nearly Half Americans Want Gitmo To Remain Open
Email This Post
On the campaign trail, Barack Obama pledged he would immediately move to shut down Guantanamo Bay prison. Nevermind that the place is home to 9-11 conspirators and people that want you and me dead just because of our nationality. Today Obama acted on his promise by issuing a 120-day halt to all trials, thereby delaying defendants’ right to a speedy trial.
Meanwhile, a new Gallup poll reveals that nearly half of Americans want Guantanamo Bay to remain open. Good to know so many Americans value our national security.
