I’ve never had an “Honest Tea”, but apparently Obama is quite a fan and when the company spotted him on the campaign trail with one they decided to capitalize on it.

Here’s their newly released “Barack Forest Berry.” Yes, they’ve replaced “Black” with “Barack”. So clever.

The brand struck marketing gold when Obama was seen drinking its Black Forest Berry tea on the campaign trail. A small number of custom bottles, renamed “Barack Forest Berry” and graced with a picture of Obama on the label, are going out to the media. . . .

“We appreciate the relationship, and it’s a meaningful relationship, and we don’t want to cheapen it in any way,” says Jesse Merrill, Honest Tea director of marketing.

Cheapen your brand name by alluding that Dishonest Barry and Honest Tea have something in common? Nah…

Update: Looks like Honest Tea isn’t the only beverage company cashing in on the 52% that voted for him. Meet Jones’ Orange “You Glad For Change” Cola. No, along with the other 48%, I’m not glad for this change. Oh, and it costs just $15 for a 6-pack. Obama themed indeed.
