Ethics Be Damned: Committee Approves Clinton for Secretary of State
Email This Post
So much for the whole concern over her repeated “pay to play” political moves. The Foreign Relations committee has approved Hillary Clinton to be the new Secretary of State under Obama with a 16-1 vote. The one opposing vote came from Sen. Vitter, R-La., who warned that Clinton’s conflict of interest overseas, due to Bill’s fundraiser, should be a road block.
This clears the first step for Hillary to vacate her seat and Gov. Paterson of NY to appoint a replacement. Will it be the unqualified Kennedy or the elected AG Cuomo? We’ll know soon enough.

Hillary Clinton passed the committee vote only. The whole Senate cannot vote until after 01/20/08. However, she will most likely be approved.
