Do Not Be Fooled: It Was A Partisan Bill With A Bi-Partisan Vote
Email This Post
Listening to yesterday’s and today’s news and political discussions I was constantly frustrated by the reporting and perspective that Republicans alone and had refused the terrible Pelosi-Reid-Obama spending and debt bill and were at fault.
Make no mistake, this bill was crafted purely by the hands of Democrats who shut out Republicans from the process and refused to include GOP alternatives.
More importantly, the House vote on Wednesday for this bill was not a “party-line vote”. In fact, 11 Democrats recognized what all of the Republican House members did and voted against the spending bill as well.
Fact: This was a partisan bill built by Democrats alone.
Fact: Both Democrats and Republicans voted against it. Only Democrats voted for it.
Fact: Only 42% of American voters approve of this spending / debt bill.
Don’t be fooled.
