Chris Matthews Has A New Job- Making Obama Succeed

“Journalist” Chris Matthews has made no secret of how “tingly” Barack Obama makes him feel, and apparently he’s joined the Obama administration as PR flack! Matthews appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe with Joe Scarborough yesterday. A suggestion was made during the spot that there might be some turmoil in the upcoming Obama administration. Quelle Horreure!! Chrissy put the smackdown on that idea QUICK.
Mark Finkelstein, a contributing editor at Newsbusters.org, believes Chrissy is trying to accomplish two things, one being improving his ratings, which go up the further to the left he goes. And God knows, ratings suck on MSNBC, so Matthews is thrilled to be rewarded by doing what comes naturally.
Sayeth Finkelstein:
“[Matthews] has publicly stated that he is interested in running for the United States Senate from the state of Pennsylvania in 2010,” says Finkelstein. “It’s the Arlen Specter seat — and this is, I believe, Chris Matthews attempting to position himself for that…to ingratiate himself first of all with Democratic leaders in the state of Pennsylvania, and then potentially also with the Democratic primary electorate.”
Finkelstein noted that panelists for MSNBC’s election night coverage, including former Democratic Congressman Harold Ford, were teasing Matthews about his strong affinity for Pennsylvania politics. Bring it on, panelists! Chrissy likes to be teased! It makes him tingle.
